A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typo. The downside of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this problem can be solved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all address can be set up with several clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed through our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes under any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all functionality for a given mailbox, you will need to click on the logo with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the very same manner and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a given domain, you’ll receive a warning notice. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or change any feature automatically.
