IP Blocking
Find out more about IP blocking, what it really means and just how and when it’s best to use it.
One of the most reliable methods to restrict the access to your Internet site is to block the IP addresses of individuals which shouldn't be able to open it. There are several reasons to do that. For instance, you may want a specific person not to be able to see your Internet site, or you may restrict the access for an entire country. You may also block IP addresses in case you discover that there are lots of web browser requests from them, if many spam comments are left in your Internet sites or if a script login page has been loaded numerous times. In each of these scenarios, the traffic is almost certainly fake and has been generated by an automatic bot, so you can safely block any questionable IP address, so as to be on the safe side. In this way, you'll also prevent the possibility of your web server getting overloaded by too many fake requests.
