JailHost
What are the basic benefits of activating the JailHost functionality? What is 'JailHost', anyway?
Using out-of-date applications or templates and plug-ins for them, or using simple passwords is always a risk for your Internet sites as these things make it considerably easier hack them. Things will get even worse when you have a couple of websites as all of them will be vulnerable when an attacker takes over only one of them. This is the reason why we have introduced JailHost - an advanced level security feature which isolates sites from each other. In the event that an Internet site is compromised, its attacker will be unable to see or access any other content outside the site folder, so all the other Internet sites hosted within this account will be protected and will remain intact. The JailHost option doesn't be a substitute for doing routine script updates or using difficult passwords, but it will minimize any damage to your websites significantly, so you'll have to fix only one site instead of all of them.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting
JailHost comes with all our
semi-dedicated hosting packages and you will be able to activate it with a couple of clicks. It is not turned on by default as we do not want to prevent some scripts that may need to access multiple folders in the account from working properly. You can enable JailHost for all other websites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this very easily even when you do not have any previous experience. What allows us to offer JailHost is the way Hepsia handles multiple domains - they all have individual folders that can be "locked". In comparison, other widespread Control Panels feature add-on domains and their content is stored in the primary domain folder, so when a single site is hacked, the whole account is hacked, which is not the case with Hepsia. In case an Internet site is damaged regardless of your efforts, we'll be able to restore it the way it was very quickly because we will have a couple of daily backups of the whole account.
